Our Story
Famous thin-crust pizza since 1935
In 1935, just after Prohibition, a tavern called Colony Grill opened in an Irish immigrant neighborhood in Stamford, Connecticut. Over the years it became known for one thing above all: a thin-crust bar pie, best under a spoonful of hot oil.
The bar pie
The crust is thin and crisp, the pie runs a little smaller than most, and the cheese and sauce stay light, so a slice holds together in one hand. Simple on purpose. The hot oil does the rest.

Hospitality and community
Colony built its name on exceptional hospitality and on showing up for its community. That came south with the pizza.
On Central Avenue
Today Colony Grill pours the same hot oil over the same bar pie at 670 Central Avenue in St. Petersburg, with a dining room, a bar and a patio. Connecticut roots, Florida porch weather.
